Abstract
Shigeo Anzaï’s photography career began by documenting the 1970 Tokyo Biennale. In this interview he discusses his personal experience of the exhibition as well as the significant moment it represented in the development of contemporary Japanese art. The interview was conducted by Lena Fritsch at Zeit-Foto Salon in Tokyo on 3 September 2016 and has been translated into English.
